Calling all Aurora students: the Aurora Sports Hall of Fame wants Aurora youth to share how sports have impacted their lives in the community through pictures.

The Hall has launched its annual photo contest, as a lead-up to the reveal of the nominees into the 2016 Class.

“Our committee hopes that you look through your photos, and photos taken by family and friends,” said Kristen Dajia, Chair of the ASHoF Education Committee. “Find one that captures a moment and tell us about it in a 20 word caption.”

Parents of children aged four to 12 and youth aged 13-19 years are encouraged to participate.

Last year’s winners included snaps ranging from hockey action shots, to lacrosse, to paddling and BMX biking.

“The key to the contest is in describing the impact that sport and activity here in Aurora has on your life,” continued Dajia.

Only one submission is allowed per youth, while the contest runs until March 11.

Six prizes in total are up for grabs, split into two age categories of Grades 1 to 8 and Grades 9 to 12.

The prizes are sports packages valued at $25, $50, and $100.

Submit your photo entries and captions to project.manager@aurorashof.ca. For questions, call Nancy Black at 647-632-6911. To check out past winners, visit www.ashof.ca.
