Newmarket-Aurora’s MPP-elect will serve as Parliamentary Assistant when the new Provincial Government gets to work next month.

Chris Ballard will serve as Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Government and Consumer Services. The Ministry will be headed by David Orazietti, who represents Sault Ste. Marie in the Ontario Legislature.

“I am proud to have been appointed Parliamentary Assistant, given it’s my first election, and I am looking forward to working closely with… Orazietti,” said Ballard in an email. “The consumer portfolio brings me back to my early days as Executive Director of the Consumer’s Association of Canada (Ontario), and as a founding board member of the Consumers Council of Canada.

“On the consumer side, the Ministry is here to educate, protect and serve Ontario consumers by ensuring a fair, safe and informed marketplace. We are dedicated to providing modern information services, as well as regulatory practices that serve the interests of Ontarians while contributing to a competitive economy.”
