Sport Hall of Fame grateful for Hoedown supportI am sure others felt some or all of the emotions that I felt last Friday afternoon after I received notice from the Magna Hoedown Committee that our organization was selected to receive funding in 2016: shock, joy, elation, relief, fear but mostly gratitude. I felt like a kid at Christmas! I am sure that the other organizations (15 in total) who got this good news, have or plan to give thanks for this annual “gift” and that got me thinking about just how many organizations have been supported by the Hoedown and, thusly, the Stronach Family. Clearly, our community has been dramatically changed because of the family's and the organization's benevolence that started back in 1987. I bet if we have the chance to be visited by the ghost of Christmas past, we would be shocked at what this community would look like without the millions of dollars that have been poured into hundreds of wonderful organizations that improve the quality of life in Aurora.
