Ward objections based on “false assumptions”

October 1, 2014   ·   0 Comments

In Mr. McRoberts letter last week, he lists a number of reasons (in his opinion) why a ward system for Aurora is not a good idea.
Many of his points are made on false assumptions.
Imagine those with “neighborhood issues” contacting nine Council members as he suggests?
It is 2014, after all, and Aurora has changed to being a Town of a collection of neighborhoods with more of them quickly being built. It is these neighborhoods, within the total community, who need a voice to speak for them as advocates.
Just ask owners of condos or apartment residents here. They want and need a ward system.
While we are getting progressive, the Town too should implement an electronic voting system!
