Witnesses sought following serious collision in Aurora


Investigators with the York Regional Police Major Collision Investigation Unit are seeking witnesses following a serious collision in the Town of Aurora.

On Tuesday, August 16, just before, 8:10 p.m., police responded to a serious collision near the intersection of Yonge Street and St. Johns Sideroad in the Town of Aurora. A head-on collision occurred in the northbound lanes of Yonge Street between two silver Kia vehicles.

The driver, a 28-year-old woman from Stouffville, was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the other vehicle, a 23-year-old woman from Victoria Harbour, was transported to hospital with less serious injuries. There were no other occupants in either vehicle.

The investigation is ongoing and any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police are being asked to please come forward.
